So I got some new progress stages of a watercolour piece - 'Native' This was for my 'around the world' project in As Art.
There will be more up here when I get round to it (:
So happy about my GCSE results! (actually i think i'm still a bit in shock) - I got A*s on English literature, art, ICT, history and textiles which was amazing! what also amazed me was on the English lit I actually got 200/200.. full marks o.o
The rest were solid As and Bs which was really nice too :) So pleased!
Anyway like I said I have a sketchbook project which Im getting slowly through, so going to post up some work from there.

Its a commission for my boyfriend's family, copied from another picture. All going well I hope to finish by the end of the week :)
Just an update on whats going on at the moment.
Firstly, went on a tryout day for college next year - everything was fantastic! I am looking forward to it so much. The art teacher gave us a small project, which was to fill a sketchbook full of direct observations, plants and so on. Was very glad to have been given some kind of occupation over the next 6 weeks to at least keep me a bit busy. She and all the other teachers were really nice :)
Secondly, I've been given a commission to work on which will take me a few weeks, will be posting progress pics up here hopefully too.
For now, though, here are some close ups of an old picture.
So today we finished our 'official' school timetable. No more lessons! But now we have a bit of a revision timetable to prepare for the exams. After that we only come in to finish our exams. Its all getting so hectic! Feeling excited, nervous, under pressure at the same time. Also, a bit sad, as I won't be seeing a lot of my classmates much again..
Havent updated here in months! No time these days -_- Anyways, its now April and I've been pretty busy with my art stuff. My final art exam is in two days, which I have prepared for a lot. Just got a bit to finish off before the big day (or should I say, dayS...) I might get round to photographing a bit of it, if anyone should wish to see. Its more that I can record it for myself, really. Anyway, couple of close ups of my latest piece, the Siamese cat commission for my aunt. I also have another piece that is about 80% done, but might not get round to finishing until the end of the week when the exam is all over. Can't wait until I finish school, and have a whole 9 weeks off to paint and draw to my hearts content :)
Wooohooo!
Today is the day I get to order my Macbook. Well this very night actually, in a minute. Then I have to wait until 10.00 when my mom gets home to enter her card details, and transfer my savings over to her.
Its all very complicated business!
But.. it means my macbook will arrive in... 3 DAYS! I'm so excited :):) even though im not actually allowed it until Christmas.. its presence in the house will satisfy me until then xD
More news! I've finished prep sheet no1 of my art exam - Wings and Feathers. Also have a few commissions.. so atm im working on:

I hope to get the two commissions finished all very soon. Infact, the prep work too.. deadline is 18th Dec.
I think I can pull it off though :)

Things are going well, and it looks like i'm well on my way to getting my macbook i've been hoping for for ages! It's looking like its going to cost me around £750, so...
-I've saved up £230 so far all on my own!
-I'm hoping to get a further £50-150 pounds from a competition I entered (depending on if I win or come runner up, fingers crossed!)
-My nan promises to donate about half the money towards it, £300-350 (woo, thanks nannus!!)
-My aunty has promised to dontae £100 towards it! (thanks Janny! :D:D)
-I am hoping to make a bit more from selling old stuff - could come to about £200 at the very best.
So that looks like about... £500 if i'm really unlucky.
....but if i'm ultra lucky, win the competition and sell the majority of my old stuff, I could make up to ............£880!!!!!
(which means, Mom, Nan and Jan, you can have some back if theres that much leftover!! xD)
But lets just bet on the £500 for now...
... Ok... we'll bet on £700, the very basic price for a mac. Just gotta hope for it! 8D

So, as I promised here's my latest Work in Progress. In stages;
1. First stages, picking out the darks, light and colours of the basic facial features.

4. Untill I move down onto the bigger, lower feathers of the body (sorry this picture isn't as good)
And this is where I am right now. Still a lot to work on, and haven't decided what kind of background (if at all?) I should put in yet.
I'm pretty happy with it so far though :)
Sorry there's no sketches tonight. I frankly can't be bothered.. tired from this morning's early start and mind-numbing day working in an office. Remind me NEVER to take an office job.. >_<
Anyway, gotta be off now, going out tonight :]
I'm at work at the moment.. taking some time out of entering data into a database [actually finished what im supposed to be doing.. and cant be bothered to ask for more work xDD].. browsing dA and booored to hell. Had a chance to catch up on some comments/deviations though.
Anywaaay.. I have some new art in store! I have one WIP, which I may just post a sneak peak of up here ;), other personal stuff (scraps and sketches)... PLUS a commission on the go! So all's going pretty well. Oh, and I also have my second and final practise art exam before the real thing. Got the paper now, I've got yonks to prep for it though. It's still coursework too, so I want to try hard on it.
Anyway, the theme is yet to be revealed (aka, decided by me xD), but I will think it over and post it on dA. I maaay even get a poll up and running if you guys wanna help me ;)
Well.. I'd better get back to work now. I will post later on with a WIP and possibly couple of sketches.. we'll see.

Ok, so here's my final piece, all done and finished :) I am very pleased with it :)
Its all finished, thank the lord! Any longer and I would have dieed or boredom or dehydration..
I was so pleased with my piece though, I feel I did everything I wanted to and it turned out just right. So hopes I'm going to get a decent mark for it. I really didn't think it would turn out to be anything good at the start, I was actually really nervous (and I don't even get nervous in normal exams o_o) but I suppose I just put my mind to what I was doing. So thats all good.
As I have said, as SOON as I get this piece back its going straight up on dA and here. No matter what, I'm not going to let the school or exam board steal it!
Hehe, its my birthday on Saturday too. Fun fun all around, going on shopping trip with my mother, have a nice brew and a chat in the cafe, than come back home for a bit and go out for a meal with my family and boyfriend. Will be great :D Anyways, now I'm going off the relax for a bit!!

So, this is the 'Yang' prep sheet. Well it's the 'yang' parts, and it also has a bit about the relationship between Yin-Yang and the Chinese dragon, to kind of move on my ideas to the final piece.
Took a quick snap of it last night before I took it in to school today for my exam. The exam was soo exhausting, but today I managed to get about 70% of it done, so tomorrow i'm going to sit back a bit a take my time in the details. Quite happy with the piece so far though :) Bit small, but I wasn't allowed any bigger paper.
If I get the chance I'm going to submit it onto dA and here, but it might be a while as it has to be marked and seen by the moderator first. So maybe more art soon, got lots going right at the moment, keep an eye out on my dA!
